Constructed by the Spanish company Sacyr, the conveyor system consists of multiple segments that work in unison to move thousands of tons of phosphate daily. The belt itself is made of durable rubber-reinforced fabric, designed to withstand the harsh desert environment, including extreme temperatures and abrasive materials. Its continuous operation minimizes transportation costs and reduces the need for trucking, making it both economically efficient and environmentally favorable compared to traditional methods.
